2018 was the 3rd year the Society has held a Spring Show. It’s always tricky to find the ‘right’ date for this, especially as the Easter weekend needs to be avoided. This year it was also exceptionally cold – remember ‘the beast from the East,’ which meant that entries were down on the previous year. The plants had decided to go back into hibernation!
The idea behind the Spring Show is to welcome in the gardening year. Classes include narcissi, tulips general Spring flowers. The different classes for the narcissi can seem difficult but there are always knowledgeable people around to guide the confused and bewildered. There are also classes for pot & container grown plants, cacti, succulents as well as sections for younger people, domestic classes, photography and handicrafts. A highlight are the delicious refreshments on offer, along with the plant stall. Something for everyone!
